The fumigation section carries out the fumigation of all the archival documents to be preserved. Archival materials are fumigated to be sent to the preservation section. Old woodblocks affected by insects are also fumigated.
The fumigation service is also provided to private individuals, monasteries and temples as and when they come with request for conservation of their document/manuscripts and woodblocks. Upon fumigation, if the fumigated item is text or document, it is digitized and the original conserved document is returned to the owner with a digital copy held in our Archives for preservation for posterity.
